In Juneau, Alaska, Vet Triage can direct you to a veterinarian that can assist with emergencies from 8:00 am - 10:00 pm on weekdays and most weekends.

Some of these emergencies will be taken through Summit Veterinary Services and some will be taken through Juneau Animal Rescue. Juneau Animal Rescue can provide service ONLY for porcupine quills and euthanasias. Unfortunately, JAR does not have the equipment and capability to handle any other emergencies.

If your pet has an emergency, please do NOT call the Animal Control emergency line or our Clinic line. Vet Triage (www.vettriage.com) will be the point of contact, able to advise on situations, and will be able to contact the on-call doctor when one is available.

About VetTriage:
VetTriage is an independent service from Juneau Animal Rescue or Summit Veterinary Services. It is a resource pet owners can use to help evaluate their animal's immediate needs. VetTriage gives you instant video televet sessions for any species with a licensed, experienced veterinarian. Connect 24 hours a day, 365 days a year from anywhere on your computer or mobile device. The VetTriage veterinarians are available 24/7 and for a consult fee they will assess your pet on live video chat to determine if your pet requires immediate emergency care.
*If you do not have access to the internet or a device with a camera you can purchase a phone triage session with our vets by calling (702) 483-8533.

**Please note: there are separate fees for Vet Triage and the services performed at JAR or Summit Veterinary Services.
