All dogs over 6 months of age & residing in Juneau for more than 30 days must be licensed in the City and Borough of Juneau (CBJ).

OTHER THINGS YOU CAN DO ONLINE:

- Renew and pay for your dog's license.
- License a NEW dog.
- Upload proof of current rabies vaccine.
- Update your contact information.


- Change the altered status of your pet.
- Upload proof of a spay or neuter.
- Mark your pet as lost, no longer owned or deceased.
License Fees are $20 for altered (spayed or neutered) dogs and $45 for unaltered dogs.
*After March 31st, 2023 there is a $15.00 late fee for each license.
  • All dogs in the City and Borough of Juneau are required to be licensed by January 1st of each year. ~ CBJ Ordinance 08.15.010(a)
  • All dogs, cats, and ferrets are required to be vaccinated against Rabies. ~ CBJ Ordinance 08.25.010(a)
  • *Cats, ferrets, and other animals are not required to be licensed, but can be registered with Animal Control free of charge.​ ​This registration process assists us in reuniting lost pets with their owners.  Call 789-6997 to register & license your animal today.
  • Dogs impounded without a current CBJ license may result in a citation for Failure to License, a minimum fine of $95.00.~ CBJ Ordinance 08.15.010
