Juneau Animal Rescue currently hiring the following:


Experienced Groomer

Qualified applicants will be experienced with grooming standards for all breeds, have excellent customer service skills, and be able to manage the JAR grooming salon, order products, schedule clients and be able to work independently. Job duties include nail trims, bathing, brushing, blow drying, shaving, and trimming dogs, cats, and small animals. The JAR Groomer will be responsible for maintaining a safe and sanitary grooming area and provide humane handling and care for all grooming animals.

A successful applicant should be able to easily and repeatedly stand for long periods of time, bend over and lift up to 50 lbs. Applicants must be reliable, compassionate, and willing to learn and follow JAR specific protocols for cleaning, sanitation, animal handling, and maintaining confidentiality. Other duties may be assigned. The Groomer reports directly to the Kennel Director.

Paid time off and medical benefits available to full-time employees after 90 day probationary period, 401k available after one year. Pay D.O.E. Client references are beneficial. A portfolio showing prior grooms will be required during the interview process.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to COVID 19, we are currently closed to public entry. However, we have a walk-up window that is staffed from 9:30 am -5:30 pm, Monday through Saturday to answer questions and sell merchandise. We are still adopting and boarding! You may also call 789-0260 for curbside pickup or any questions.  Juneau Animal Rescue senior staff can be reached by email and voicemail and will be checking both daily Mondays - Fridays.
